ode to grass...... er... something like that.

Its weird being on this side of the fence looking back at the two other fences you just hopped over, cutting through all those yards just to get to where you are. The grass is always greener? I dunno, it looks kinda brown in patches and it needs to be mowed back there. The grass I stand on is nice and green and full and spongy. I like it here. It is difficult to keep it looking and feeling nice, but I am on the greener side of the fence, and I like it here. That's just the way things go.

Me at the Badlands in my red sweater from Ireland the day after Christmas '04. I love this shot. We (G-ma and G-pa Nore, Aunt Nano, cousin Joel, and I) had been driving sence 7am or so through the snow in some areas, but it was about 40 to 45 degrees when we got to the badlands. a sweater was enough. I love the static in my scarf. This one makes me look like I am walking on Tatooine, camera in hand, cap on my head.

this one almost makes me look like I am skipping rope on a mountain pass on Tatooine. I like how it captured the movement. I was just trying not to fall.

We're not coming back, you'll just make us get back in the car

My cousin Joel and I walked and crawled on a tiny ledge to get out there. Aunt Nano took a picture of us posing and then yelled for us to come back so we could go. we didn't want to. we had been in the car all day. "we're not comming back, You'll just make us get back in the car" so I suggested we just sit down. It was so Quiet. The silence just envelopes you. We took some pictures and carefully made our way back to them. the spot where we are sitting is about 100 to 150 feet away from the camera.

I guess it wasn't really a clicking sound that this camera made. I was using a Cannon Sure Shot my mom loaned me (one of the old ones). the sound it makes is a lot harder to spell. All these pictures were taken by my aunt Nano while we were in the badlands during X-mas. I am the one in the red.

This sack in the tree was across from my house. I spotted it when I was walking to my car. Right after I took this, a guy came out of the house with a mop and tore it out of the tree like it was a pinata.

Last week some time, It may have been a thursday, I went out on a walk up to Weather Top (a hill behind my house) with my new camera (a gift from my mom for my B-day), some Frank Sinatra in my head phones, Sean the sheep purse on my shoulder, and two hoodies. It was Mighty windy out and I was sure to get some awesome cloud shots. It was so windy, I could lean into the wind without falling over, and if I jumped, it would cary me a bit. lol, Frank Sinatra singing Stormy Weather, lol. After I took this, I noticed that the rain was comming straight for me, so I grabbed my lens cap and high-tailed it home, missing the rain by about 10 seconds.

Massage is what I enjoy not just what I do

I keep running into people from my past.
"Hi I'm LUKE. Thank you for allowing me to serve you today." says the receipt from Walgreens from a few mondays ago. I used my card to buy penut butter, face wash, eardrops, lunch for tuesday, and granola bars. Luke goes to give me the receipt to sign but hesitates and looks at it again before putting it down. I figure something is wrong and look up at him when he says, "Do you remember me? .........from elementry school?" It took a long time to register that there was nothing wrong with my card. He looked vaguely fermiliar but I didn't recognise him, but I acted it up like, "Oh, Yeah! How's it going? What are you doing now? You know, besides working here." He said he was working to save up for college. We both did the "Great to see you line" because there were more costomers and I left. I didn't figure out who it was until I got to my car. It was only my BEST FRIEND from First through Fourth grade! I can't believe it had been 9 years since I had seen him last. it makes me feel so old. I am just kicking myself for screwing up that little reunion. When I got home I dug out the old pictures of us, and started planning my next trip to Walgreens and what I would say. I feel I knew this chain of events would happen. De-Ja-Vu from a dream a few years ago.

Another happened closer to now. Another best friend from my past called me up and invited me to dinner. We had been peas in a pod when we were in Montessori together. I hadn't seen or heard from her in about 4 years, and there was much reminiscing over a home cooked meal. All about those we had known and where they are now; about the clay city we made and the soap operas that went on in it; about playing Soul Calliber on Dreamcast, or watching Kevin Kosner is Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. Talk of that movie made us want to watch it, which we did with much laughter at how cheezy it is now. one of the running jokes circled around the treehouses they made in sherwood forest, we started calling it Swiss Family Robin Hood. lol. some how the topic of convirsation (massage) started with Becca saying early in the evening, "So I hear you are in Massage School now. I just had to laugh when I heard that, because I have known sence 4th grade that that is what you would do." she knew before I did. She must have senced it. I had always been good a backrubs, but who knew I would make a career out of it? she did.
I love doing it. It is just so fulfilling to go home at the end of the day and know that you made a difference in someone's day. I don't gripe or complain about it, because I don't really see anything to complain about even though there are plenty around me who find more than enough to complain about doing massage like: "ewwwwwwww that last guy was so hairy!" or "that woman's feet stunk!". I guess stuf doesn't bother me as much as it does them. Every(body) needs to be loved. My message to those is this: If you are not completely happy doing it, then don't do it. Why be in a school that specializes in massage if you don't want to give massages? enjoy it while it lasts, besides there are many perks to this job.
well that is enough for now.
pictures soon.
